Left a grey squirrel for the lazy bobcat, he waits until I shoot one and then brings it up to the east porch to eat it at night. Always leaves the tail for some reason.

Can't blame him, it is a nice spot in the summer.

After our class last Saturday, I measured and re-measured the Springfield for a new barrel bushing. Sent EGW my measurements (.699 & .580) and got the new one (and new spring plug) in the mail today. It fits perfect, really tightens up the barrel, yet doesn't cause any springing action.

Of course after I get the Prodigy slide all pretty on the inside, then I evaluate the barrel fitment using my new knowledge. The barrel is sprung when in full battery (accuracy negatively affected) and there is insufficient clearance between the barrel hood and lugs to the slide when out of battery. You can see the entire top of the barrel has been rubbing. This gun was a soft slow cycler and this dragging contributes to that.

Emery cloth and mill work required.

The wife and I headed up to Carmel to the kindlemarket or whatever it's called. I had Mt P07 on one hip and my Canon A-1 hanging against my other. It was fun, but I sure hate driving up there.

I'm thinking of maybe heading to the range tomorrow sometime just to enjoy myself by exercising a CZ or two.
