Barbs car, fuel pump died. $350 for the pump, $650 for the labor. Ready on Tuesday. Grrr

That's insane.... Replacing the pump when you have a lift and transmission jack is only about a 2.5 hour job. Pumps are only about $150. I can understand making money but not taking advantage of people.

Napa had the same price on the pump as Ford. Rock Auto is probably cheaper but I haven't checked.

Finally caught the bug the rest of the family had. Slept 12 hours last night and needed it. ibuprofen is finally kicking in. Hope I kick this thing before work on Monday. Just makes for a bad weekend for everyone, especially when Saturday is supposed to be “Dad-urday”.

Don't do many fuel pumps in a body shop, but when we do, it's nice if they have an access hole.

Had a couple cars hit so hard it knocked the float and or pick-up off the sending unit.

Some that are in the tank have access doors under the rear seat to pull it from the tank.

On fj's folks will often remove the back seat and cut their own access to it.
