Had to spice it up a bit. I may have to dye or paint the handgaurd, it's got a special muzzle device on it that I'm waiting to see.

Whenever I get around to building my pistol, it will have to have some type of muzzle device to "throw" the sound forward. Those things can be brutal to people around you, especially in an indoor range.

    I don't drink coffee YET.

    FIFY!

I went through a FDE phase with my ARs last year. Two of them got all new Magpul FDE furniture and one got a battle worn-ish tan paint job to boot. I stopped at doing the sights in FDE though, as I'm not quite that committed. I am happy with the results though but am not sure that I'd change up any of the others. I really need to exercise the ARs more. I spent a good part of last year accumulating enough parts to give each of my sons a complete AR kit for Christmas, so I'm guessing that we'll get a chance to run them in January. That is, if PSA actually ships the ammo I bought from them by then. It's been week and a half and still no shipping notice. It's a tough time of the year for them, so I'm not too worried. But, I've had other stuff from them be slow to ship so hopefully, they get it out before the EOTY this time.

This is 1 reason I really avoid PSA. They will pull the funds right away and your parts/pieces/ammo languishes.

My AR is obnoxiously loud. You can feel it if you are anywhere in the vicinity of the shooter.

Many people are like that. They are getting better. With the amount of orders they see during sales, it doesn't surprise me. Some are different though, for example Alan shipped my optic before he ever collected funds... It was in town before I saw the funds leave my account.

It's been hit or miss with PSA for me. I've had shipping notices on some stuff within 48 hours, yet others have waited weeks before shipping. I don't order anything from PSA that I have to have immediately. Even the ammo that's coming from them is more to back fill what I know we'll be shooting so if it gets here in mid January, we'll still be fine with our shooting before then.

    Alan is the man.

I don't know why, but I find myself defending .40 S&W a lot lately. I'm not sure why I care enough to do that, but for some reason, every time someone knocks .40 with the same old "9mm is just as good" BS, I feel compelled to defend it. I like .40 and I shoot a bunch of it, but I like and shoot 9mm and .45 too. Over the last year, I find that carry 9mm 45% of the time vs only 19% for .40, so I'm definitely not a 9mm hater. I do like to carry the heavier calibers during the winter months when the amount of fabric and leather to be pierced grows, but 9mm still gets carried a lot even this time of the year.

I just don't know why I feel the need to defend .40 so much lately.

I don't understand the people complaining over 40. Most likely, they've never fired it in anything other than a plastic gun. To me it's just another caliber, same as all the different rifle calibers. Every one of them has something different to offer...

I know the feeling. I have a .40 that I really like and I do carry it in the winter when garments are thicker. I don't fight it too much, though. The gun world is really no different than anything else. Fads tend to rule and people, basically, are sheep.
