Okay, I am trying to figure out the current BEST handgun in the world! And I am very serious about wanting opinions on this. Every category has to be considered, and there is only room for 1 gun. So, if you want to chime in, narrow your choice to 1 best gun.

The categories are as followed but are NOT limited to these:

    - Price
    - Capacity
    - Concealability
    - Comfort to shoot
    - Caliber
    - Visual Aesthetics
    - Accuracy
    - Reliability
    - ETC... (Feel free to add categories that I have not thought of)

I know that many guns truly excel at a few or a number of these categories, but many are weak in others.

I am looking for the 1 gun that excels in the MOST of these categories!
Truly the BEST handgun in the world!

I have yet to form an opinion about this, so I am withholding my own guess until I've seen some responses.

    So, what do you think?

The best one in the world is the one that meets your requierments. You will never get everyone to agree that one gun is the best so give up on that before you get started haha.

Oh, I already own TONS of handguns that meet my requirements. This post is merely for fun.

If my carrying habits were known, I typically only carry revolvers. However, if I were to give my recommendation for a "Best Gun in the World" it would probably be the Sig P229 in .40cal.

But there are so many possibilities, I'm just curious what folks will say.

I will have to say that the 1911 is the best. It's been around 99 years and the design has not changed. There has to be alot of good things about it for it to be around that long.

Ok. So everybody is going to make a liar out of me for my G19 comment. But I agree with the 1911.

And I just picked up a Sig P229R in .40 this weekend!

    Impossible to say for sure.

My vote is the Colt Python, or a good S&W revolver

No automatics are even in my top 5.

    - Price: 7 for 10
    - Capacity: 6
    - Concealability: 8 for 10
    - Comfort to shoot: 10 for 10
    - Caliber: 8 for 10
    - Visual Aesthetics: 10 for 10
    - Accuracy: 10 for 10
    - Reliability: 10 for 10

I will go with the G19 (or pretty much any Glock)
fair price, high capacity, easy to conceal, comfortable to shoot, all common calibers available, looks great! :D, accurate (for me at least), very reliable, many accesories for them if you wish, the mags are interchangeable, very simple to field strip and clean, easy to maintain

I know there is no such thing as the best though, these are just why I like Glocks the best.

It's all matter of opinion. I do not think their is a best gun. A gun you may think is great, I may think the opposite. Hence there being so many makes, and models.

depends on who you ask really. But I would say a Tie for my requirements. 1911 and Glocks.
Millions of people own them. SHTF, there will be plenty of parts.

You are asking about the best yet you have price as a criteria, price and best are almost always mutually exclusive. If I had to pick a single gun to use for the rest of my life, one that I could shoot for pleasure, SD/HD, target, hunting, competition, for everything I currently use a dozen handguns for it would be a 5" 327 M&P R8 from S&W.

Capacity - 8 rounds of 357 magnum is fast reloading full moon clips
Concealability - easy to conceal either strongside or in crossdraw
Comfort to shoot - like a pop gun with 38 target loads, very manageable with 357's
Caliber - 38/357...cheap for practice and one of the best stopping calibers for SD
Visual Aesthetics - What is more eye appealing than a classic revolver
Accuracy - world known for exceptional accuracy
Reliability - better than any semi auto made
