I guess this is really not all that surprising. Most of the time when I've seen a teacher given an award like this, the big attribute cited is their "passion." Well duh. They have a passion for being around young people. People think passion is a good thing. When in reality, it's just a thing. It can be good or bad.

So I guess if it were to be shown there was a statistically-significant overlap between teachers of the year and pervs, I would not be shocked. Teacher of the Year is a popularity contest. So is getting laid. What are you really measuring?
