How many of you are taking the lady to shoot for Valentine's day? What are you shooting? Where?

I'm taking my long time girlfriend to shoot at Proteq later this evening. She is beyond excited! We will mainly be shooting my m&p9c and S&W Model 10-7 .38 spl.

If I suggested that, she might actually take me up on it.

And then use that occasion to shoot me!

I'll stick with a Hallmark card and some dark chocolate. Safer -- and given the price of ammo these days, cheaper -- that way. :D

Where ever my GPS says I am
My fiance and I spent two hours at the range, Ruger Security Six, Single Six (magnum part), 915 9mm, Ruger 10/22, an old .22 rifle and the guy in the bay next to us let us shoot his AR 15 (she had never shot an AR). It was nice talking to him, said he is from the Indy area and had a range at one point. Sold it, but still collected guns.

Sarah isn't that good of aim with handguns, but since I have a range membership now, that should improve.

She actually liked this rifle the best.

This is staged. Guns were unloaded, the camera was put on a timer, magazine in the 10/22 was removed, the other rifle was triple checked for clear, safeties were both on. When I was setting up the camera, her rifle was in a safe direction.

Here is our day at the range. This was at Proteq near Brazil. She is also on crutches from a recent acl surgery but wanted to go shooting anyway. :rockwoot:

I would have LOVED it if my fiancee had taken me to the range for Valentines day. For whatever reason, he's gone with his buddies to the range before when we were first dating, but he's never taken me.

I've had to go on my lonesome, and being a social creature, I don't like it.

His reasoning may have something to do with the fact that we both work exact opposite shifts and don't even have the same days off, but it would still be nice if we could figure something out.

Does anybody have suggestions for handgun ranges in the Fort Wayne area? For right now I'm trotting my rear-end out to Roanoke.

Freedom has a nice indoor range www.freedomfortwayne.com if you are willing to pay for it($5 to join for the year, $12/hr or $15/day I believe)! I am told southwest conservation club is nice, but have never been myself. otherwise, I'm in the same boat as you, if you find somewhere better let me know!

Didn't go to a range with the husband but did go to a friend's and had fun shooting my s&w .40 and our new little .410 shotgun, both for the first time. I let my friend and her two teen boys shoot as well as my oldest boy and my 10 year old girl (she only shot the .410). The boys had grins so big I thought the tops of their heads would fall off. My girl said the .410 was the most fun thing she ever shot. I was slightly disappointed my other four kids didn't want to shoot, but they were too busy playing with their friends.

I was also able to determine that, while I do like the .40, I don't like it enough for it to be my carry gun. Can't wait to try others.

Whitetail, how did you get Don to let you in that area? I have asked if I could go down there and he said no.

That area is the LE/Military range. It was first built to be used for handicap shooters as well and i just emailed him the day before asking him a few questions because my girlfriend is on crutches from an acl surgery. He let us down there because of that alone. The only other time i get to shoot the steel is when i go with my ROTC friends. I wish it was open to everyone though!
