China has lodged a protest at the meeting of the UN general assembly against the US and declared the legal use of the "anti-succession law" formally with the UN to keep Taiwan a part of China. It also stated publicly it would respond if the law is violated.

Chinese foreign ministry statement on Tuesday.
“There is an old saying in China: it is better to lose a thousand troops than an inch of land. This is the will and determination of the Chinese people. If the Anti-Secession Law is violated, China will take resolute actions in accordance with the law to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said, without elaborating.

If they are paying, it’s a very good thing for the US — we sell them our one-gen-old gear, that is still good enough to beat China, free up storage space, and US-based production facilities make the newest gear. US workers get paid good wages, keep up skills, train new ones, factories are kept humming.

During remarks on Wednesday, the civilian head of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) slammed China as a "challenge" to the alliance. In an interview with Reuters, Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said Beijing’s support for the war in Ukraine, its opposition to NATO expansion, and its territorial claims(*my note,he is talking about Taiwan as it is now being openly disputed in the EU rather to recognize it as a country vs part of China) justify the alliance assigning China this label. The sum of all is this just increases the importance of NATO allies standing together and realizing that China is part of the security challenges we need to face today and in the future."

England is calling for NATO to go global,no longer limited to the EU but also to cover the entire Pacific,Asia, and Africa.

I can see the benefit. Just imagine what a powerful deterrent the NATO navy would be with ships from the mighty German, Polish and Czech navies patrolling the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea.

Saw that there were riots and unrest over covid lock-downs and calls for Xi's resignation this morning in china. Wonder which gulag those folks will be going to? Those extra workers might might provide a cost reduction on sneakers and t shirts, joe can claim that as inflation control.

Why hasn’t China invaded yet? What’s the hold up? Are they rethinking if Russia gets weaker fighting in Ukraine they just invade Russia? I mean with 5 trillion Chinese that would make more sense than Taiwan, lot more land. Plus the world would say Russia no longer a threat. Everyone happy. Or would Biden send all our $$$$ to Russia to help fight the invaders? I need to start a war to get in on this action before Joe is gone.
