The first Superbowl 50 commercial I saw was the Helen Mirren one, and that pretty much put me off. No, don't drive drunk but what a miserable presentation.

Not all is lost tho, NARAL had a Twitter meltdown about the Superbowl babies and the car ads and whatnot, so overall the commercials were a win.

Yep. I think there is only one use for public shaming that I can supoort and that is to shame politicians for trying to deceive the public. We try to teach kids not to bow to peer pressure and then we see **** like that commercial using peer pressure for social change.

So how many people who drive drunk will rethink because an old hag called them out during the superbowl?

My daughter sang that puppy/baby/monkey thing all the way to school this morning. Glad mom took her. :):
    That commercial was disturbing.

Most of the others were OK. Nothing makes me want to see them again.

I thought the Budweiser ad with Helen Mirren was well done. I don't imagine she drinks that swill, though.

Much as I hate to admit it. The Prius commercial was pretty good.

So, Toyota (Prius) is saying it's OK to rob a bank and run from the cops, as long as you do it in a Prius? I disagree with the message and didn't much care for the commercial.

I don't care for Prius. I think they're ugly. And the few Prius owners I've ever known were eco snobs.

But as for whatever message the commercial sends. I didn't think it was okay to rob a bank and run from police before I saw the commercial. I didn't change my position after. The only message I got out of that commercial is that Prius is a fast, powerful car that comfortably seats 4 people for indefinite periods, it never gets scratched, and it never runs out of gas.

Basically, the typical truth in advertising issues that all commercials seem to suffer from. But it was entertaining.
