Does anyone know the width of the springfield XD & XD(M) sub-compact lines.... interested in a .40 & 9mm. Haven't had much luck looking online...

    Thanks!

    Back down south
    There's no XDM subcompact.
The width of the XDSC is roughly 1.25" at its widest. I don't have the "official" measurements from SA, but I have a tape measure in my desk drawer and an XD40SC on my belt.

The 40 and the 9mm are identical in their external dimensions.

Thanks! Went to a gun shop last night wanting to look at a Glock 36. Didn't like it, and am going to check out some XD's tonight. Will be a IWB daily carry...

The Kahr CW9 and CW40 are worth a look if you're considering pistols of this form factor. They're both listed as 0.90" in width. Pretty slim.

I can attest to this. I carried a Kahr CW-40 (single stack, .40 S&W, 6+1, DAO) almost daily for two years.

They're VERY slim and quite lightweight. What you lack in capacity you more than make up for in ease and comfort in carrying.

There were several times when I had to do a "press check" to even be sure the thing was still where it was supposed to be.

A step up into the P series of Kahr's pistols will get you sights that are able to be changed (CW pistols have a pinned front sight), polyganal rifling, and an extra magazine, as well as some cosmetic touches not available on the CW.

IF, if, if you're interested in a Kahr polymer frame, stick with something "full sized". (their micro polymer framed pistols are the ones with the majority of the complaints)

Ditto on the XD. I carry an XD40 SC in a Don Hume IWB. I had a Bersa .380 that I carried but after getting the XD I sold it. I really like my XD.
