Glad to hear that! I guess that's another plus of my Wilderness Instructor belt. I've wondered since I got it why the buckle needs to be so big and heavy! It's not just for repelling, but I guess if someone's a bad shot it's like body armor for your pelvic region.
A lucky guy indeed but the bullet probably hit somewhere else and skipped across the floor while he was laying down and had enough energy to stick to his belt. Doubt his buckle was the first thing it hit...especally since he said he didn't feel it. You'd be amazed how bullets skip on concete and asphalt.
When I read the title about the belt buckle being hit I imagined a large cowboy styled flat metal buckle, which is a small target. When I saw that it was just hooped kind of buckle, I was impressed.
