OK, just heard a news blurb on the radio about the
obama administration now focusing on giving loans
to small businesses in the U.S. as a new "phase" of
    the stimulus recovery...............

Does anyone else think any small business that took ANYTHING offered by
this current .gov is a TERRIBLE idea?

    What happened to the banks?
What happened with the auto makers that bought into this line of crap?

Pay czars in charge of the banks. Setting limits for pay.
Czars in charge of the auto companies. Firing and changing contracts.

I guarantee there will be a provision in any "loan" that grants the .gov more power over your business than it already has.

    Don't do it! :noway:

    What say you?

As a small business owner I have no interest in a government loan. I would rather fail if I am doing that bad. But I am sure there are a lot of people that will be bought off by "free" money.

If you've ever needed capital to grow your business, the SBA loans were always there.

Rude, cocky, arrogant, and insulting, The SBA jerkwads would begrudgingly give loans that were designed to help proven businesses expand so that they would hire more workers, pay more taxes, etc.

Do you know who gets to work for the SBA? I imagine people that were too idiotic to get a job at the IRS or OSHA. Talk about power trippers. Some businesses couldn't get ahead without a loan and the SBA knows it.

I think that there are more people who have seen the "strings" attached to the government spending programs. If they don't see it, then they are probably getting what they deserve.

+1 for running a solid company on your own. God bless and have a great year!

I think you guys are correct. That Stimulus package was purely to advance their agenda of socialism and economic insolvency.

Well, as they used to say when the plague was around many years ago I would not touch that with a 10' pole. I think taking government money is asking for trouble. If not soon, probably later when you thought it was safe.

The goal of a loan is to pay thr mutha off.

SBA loans have been around for 50 years or more. Special provisions added into terms of the loan will come and go.

Most people that have jobs now are due to low interest SBA loans (from years ago).

Credit used to mean something other than a dirty word.
