    The blog they came from says they are Texas women who carry routinely....

    When you said "blog" I figured it was my set of pictures.
    So I had to go back and look.
    I was in a zone, there were so many to transfer. I didn't notice.
    Usually I try to weed them out.

    but they're up, and I'm too lazy to do anything about it.

    Enterprising GIs in WW2 adapted BAR mags to the Springfield. Not a new thing even then. The Germans made one for the Mauser in WW1. Hence the "trench mag" name.

    the 1903 Springfield was stripper clip reloaded. There is no way it could be modified in the field to hold a magazine. If that could be done. I am sure the M1 grand would have been modified to hold the BAR mags. Who liked getting a "GRAND THUMB". 20 rounds compared to 8.
