But her boyfriend was there.
and, I was doing a favor for a friend (I was checking guns safe), and I didn't want to embarrass/****-off the friend.

So, there was a pause.
Then everyone laughed and commented I was speechless.
I said something like, I've got nothing. I'm going to sit over there for awhile.
