I would say, from experience: handgun. A long gun contacting the shoulder moves in conjunction with the animal/machine. The hand is somewhat independent. The injuns would have done much better with their wagon train raids if they had revolvers vs carbines.

Alpo is right...Among the plains Indians a revolver was a very prized possession....

Really no different than those who wear shoulder rigs.
But it looks good on her

Yeah....That's my little Ruger Bearcat with the muzzle poking in my gut as I prepare my bride a cheese and cracker....

And here it is after I moved it back under my arm....

    It's my favorite rig....

    rimg.php

Bearcat, pouch with two camel snuff tin's, one with 50 rounds of .22, the other with a small survival kit and a fire starter rod and striker...The knife that rides up front is a Rat Izula.....Whenever I am hiking the woods or going for a woods ride on the MULE I just slip the rig over my shoulder...In bad weather I wear it under a wool shirt...

    Darn near perfect....

Tupperware was once considered the realm of women....He figured out a way to make Tupperware more palatable to men...

I give credit where credit is due.....
