My local shop just got in a Serbu Super Shorty and I started paperwork on it today. This is not my picture but pretty much what I'm getting.

The wait is going to suck but it will be worth it.

Check the NFA Day AAR's for a million pictures and videos of guys shooting these. Hopefully it will help pass the time. :D

But they are selling PG-only models to them which they can use to make spankin' new AOWs....:rockwoot:

    Good point!

If I were in the market, I think I'd want the Rem 870 pattern as well. I just don't care for the looks of the safety on the Mossburgs. Just kind of ruins the lines.

Something else for those interested: You COULD, conceivably, make your own "shorty" if you have a PG-only shotgun.

It'll probably end up costing you more in parts/labor/excise tax stamp, but it could be done.

But $700-ish (that's the going rate for a new one, right?)

Also don't forget that to make an AOW is $200 but to transfer it is $5...

    Exactly.

Although, if you're extremely handy and even have access/knowledge to do your own machining $200 for the gun and $200 for the tax is considerably less than buying a Serbu outright.

IndianaChris: I've just got done doing some work with a guy from another forum site who does custom kydex stuff & some stuff like what Crossbreed does. He lives in L'ville & might be able to give you a hand with setting something up... Really reasonable pricing, too...

Let me know if you're interested.

He made me a couple of rig sets for IWB carry and I'm happy. Fits my "husky" frame well & isn't easily seen with a simple shirt covering me, even though I've got that Spare Tire wanting to push things into the public view.

I also got a look at his OWB setup and it looked to fit him right.
