Cut all the blanks out of the O-1 I had on hand. Two more of what I've jokingly called the "ARK", and three of a smaller version that came about last night. Someone who is in the know of my current flintlock fowler project suggested a patch knife, and I took that idea in the same manner how the "ARK" came about... I thought about what I would do with such a knife and grabbed a pencil and some paper..

Second design sketch and pattern. My wife was pretty surprised at how I approached the design part.. I just grabbed a pencil and drew it. No rulers just laid my hand for a guide on the handle size and went with it.

Started on a first knife for a buddy of mine. The process is much smoother now. This far took only about a 1/4 of the time the first one did. The little one above has already cleaned some squirrels.

Letting it soak in the oven for just over an hour at 425.

After the heat treat it was a on to sanding and polishing. Little more to go today, there is one last "scratch" in the blade that is bugging me. I will get to shaping the scales, walnut this time, and getting them on.

New scales. Not a bad thing.. I made these much better.

Couple hours later and a few beers... Didn't have those on the first set, so I made up for it and BAM. This knife was built for my buddy Sailor here on the INGO.
