I purchased one new back in the 1990's. It was a nice looking pistol, but mine had feeding issues. I kept in in the safe for quite a few years, then traded it off with full disclosure.

I'm sure Springfield has worked out the bugs by now, considering there are many 3" 1911s out there that seem to work reliably.

I just purchased a used one a few weeks ago. I've shot 50 rounds of federal 230 grain with no problems what so ever. I really like it. It is rather easy to scratch the finish when reassembling gun.

Does it have the collet style bushing? If so, replace it. I had one that broke it half way through the very first mag.

It also was spotty on feeding. I like the gun, but could not trust it.
