I don't see that inviting a leader of another nation to speak is such an outrageous exercise of "power". I think the administration is making it into a big controversy because Obama doesn't want Netanyahu ****ing with his Iranian deal.

My take is that since Netanyahu does not want this deal with Iran, and is not getting what he wants from Obama, he initiated the idea of them inviting him to speak. Because it's such a public event, Netanyahu is basically going over Obama's head to appeal to Americans, Obama's boss.

I think if the sides were switched, all else the same, Democrats would gladly invite a kindred tongued head of state, and then the Republicans would be *****ing about how unconstitutional it is.

Why is Obama so worried about the constitution now anyway? It's not like he seems to mind exercising power he doesn't have.

True. The precedent has been set now, so you know the Democrats will be doing the same as soon as they can. Now if the article I posted is factual, it is kinda bad form by the Republicans to invite Netanyahu to speak without consulting the president first.... assuming that's the way it been done every other time prior to this.

But if this was some leader of the black community or other minority with special status, and Repubs responded in such fashion, they would be labelled racist, biggots, ect. The hypocrisy of that bunch is nauseating.

What fashion? There's absolutely a disconnect in whatever you're trying to say. How about you given an example of something similar the Republicans would say, that would be labeled bigoted or racist.

No disconnect. An example? How about criticizing our current president. We always hear from the left/demos that racism is at the root of the criticism. It is a tactic employed by Marx and championed by Alinsky. Accuse your opponent of doing things for despicable reasons in order to discredit them and thereby gain a political advantage.

That's not an example. You said black leader or minority with special status. Obama is neither.

 Uuummm....I'm not very good at conversations with illogical people. Obama IS definitely considered a black leader and IS a member of a minority.

The whole country must be black then. And yeah, my fault, Obama is a member of a minority.... and the majority.

So he was a community organizer in those lilly white neighborhoods in Chicago? Since Sharpton has a show on MSNBC all viewers are black? Logic isn't your strong suite.

Oh, so people in white neighborhoods who represent their neighbors are white leaders? And I have no idea the racial break down of Obama's neighborhood in Chicago, but given his and his wife's tax bracket, I doubt they were living in the hood.

Seems a lot of precedents have been set in the past 7 years. We have Administrations ignoring congress, congress ignoring administrations. Heck, next thing we know, the judicial branch will be writing and enacting their own laws.

    ....oh wait.
