    Status of gun industry

From one of my major customers!!

To follow will be several IMPORTANT Info updates about the status of the gun industry currently, followed by an INVENTORY UPDATE: We traveled to Texas for Industry meetings concerning the shortages, here's what we were told.

Smith & Wesson-is running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages.

RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.

FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1.

    Remington-Maxed out!

    Armalite: Maxed out.

DPMS: Can't get enough parts to produce any more product.

COLT: Production runs increasing weekly...bottle necked by Bolt carrier's.

LWRC:Making only black guns, running at full capacity...can't get enough gun quality steel to make barrels.

Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind.

AMMO: Every caliber is now Allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible w/ of 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by L.E. and civilians are third in line.

MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon.

RELOADERS... ALL Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra's for reloading purposes... it could be 6-9 months before things get caught up. Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming months.

With a nine month time frame I guess I'll have to remain picky about what calibers I take out the most. Thanks for all the info.

I've been seeing this creep up on the web for over a week now and so far no one cites a source. Same info seen on ar15, 4chan, and few other places. Not saying it's wrong, but still looking for the official source that started this.
In the meantime I'm rationing my 7.62 nato, waiting for my 80% lower, glad I had around 1k rounds of 54r, and kicking myself for being thorough in my search for a handgun before this all went to pot. Wish everyone luck with their arms and ammo

O joy. Looks like im going to be shooting just my mosins for a good junk of the year.

Is quality control going to suffer while they are trying to push out as many products as possible?

Saw this being put out by Mark La Rue so I'm kinda beleving it.

Actually, it has been making the rounds of the internet under various attributions ("Valley Guns," "Ed's Gun Shop," "Guns & Ammo magazine," etc.) since last week. Some of it jives with what I heard from the horses' mouths at an industry conference last month, other parts of it are somewhat more dubious.

I must have missed something. Regarding weaponry, I thought the idea of prepping was to have what you needed should a disaster strike and supply be cut off. On December 13, I would imagine that most who were prepping thought they were, in fact, prepared. Yet on December 15th, all of a sudden, what was adequate for a disaster was suddenly not enough such that way too many people went out and bought out everything they could....based upon laws they thought may happen, which had not even been proposed.

Then, we blame the manufacturers for not predicting irrational behavior and for not expanding production to meet demand which may, in fact, dry up when it is discovered that, at the very least, the new laws will be no where close to what the lemmings ran over the cliff fearing.

    What a crazy situation.

So if this is so, I guess there won't be much attendance at shooting events this Summer.

Maybe I will continue to load up on shotgun shells and just shoot some Trap and Skeet. I can still find 20 ga for $6 a box.
