On trigger alone go with the SP2022. While I have not owned an SD9, I owned its brother the SW40 and the trigger on that gun is long and stiff (enter snicker here). The SP2022 has a similar long pull in double action but single action is very short and crisp.

But look around your location for local shops, Im sure most can come within $20-$25 of those prices and you wont have to pay an FFL fee.

I own both SD9 and Sig 2022. Either will do you fine, the Smith SD has a much better trigger than the Sigma . Of the two you mention I prefer the SD9, mine has been more reliable . My Sig hasn't coughed much but my SD9 not at all.

Go with the Sig Pro. That S&W reminds me of a Sigma I used to own, and it's trigger was atrocious. I sold it for my 2022 and I'm loving it. The trigger is as smooth as butter and is completely predictable. :yesway:

I'm glad this question came up because I've also been looking at the Sig 2022 (although I've been debating between it and the S&W M&P9c instead of the SD9) I guess my reluctance is with a $400 Sig.....Cadillac tried that once with the "Caterra"

While I would lean towards the SIG, it stems only from personal preference and I don't have a solid reason to state...

I think either way you will end up with a reliable firearm.

The Sig is cheaper because its a polymer gun, most of Sigs higher priced stuff is all metal. The P250 is also polymer and less expensive.

My SP2022 has been 100% in well over 200 rounds. They are even on sale at Midwest Gun for $389 for contrast and $435 for night sites. I wish I had known that before I bought mine.

I put a couple hundred more rounds through my 2022 this past weekend and it performed admirably, as expected. Buy it, run it, love it.

    My life, my choice.

I have always bought THE ONE I WANTED. That has kept me happy for most of my life. I have never given much credence to what anyone else thought about my choices. :)

PS: I feel the same way about such things as which wine to serve with a given meal. The correct wine for any occasion is THE WINE YOU LIKE! :D

Personally, I prefer the Sig over the S&W. I like the quality of Sig Sauer and they have a great track record. S&W makes great revolvers but Sig makes a better automatic. Just my opinion.

both are fine guns, but you could opt for the sd9 kit that comes with a light and lockbox not to mention front night sight from the factory at no additional charge
