I have and SKS with ATI stock, 4 mags, single point sling, and receiver mount rail.

I have a guy wanting to trade me a Mossberg 500 12ga w/ ATI pistol grip stock, shell saddle, laser/flaslight combo. And a Marlin 990 w/200rds of .22lr.

Both guns for the SKS package described above, should i?

I love my SKS too much to trade it for anything. Still my favorite gun.

That said...just depends on how attached you are to it. I don't know much about the guns you posted up.

    Well first....

I would not trade a perfectly functional SKS.

But if I were, I would go with option 1. I don't believe the 15-22 is interchangable. But I also don't know for sure. But a 12 ga and a .22 are two guns not to be without.

If you have a yugo sks i would take option 1. if you have a norinco i would keep it unless you need a shotgun or have another 7.62x39. Good shotgun ammo approaches 1$ a round and the 39 can still be found at walmart for 5.17 per 20. This ammo shortage wont last forever. ive bought 500 or so .223, 7.62, and 9mm in the past couple weeks for 1/3 what other places selling for. .22 is ever elusive...:twocents:

My issue is, i like to shoot a lot and 7.62x39 on my budget is not an option. Trade #1 backed out, he said he traded off the shotgun to another guy while making the deal with me. I am seriously considering trade #2. And im not sure if it is Yugo or Norinco, it has chinese writing on the side of the receiver, that is all i know.

Yugo will generally have a grenade launcher mount on it. If it has chinese writing, it's norinco.

The 15-22 is a good trade. I'd do it.

The 15-22 is NOT a "mil spec" lower and another upper will not work on it. You cannot shoot a 5.56 upper on it.

Why not pick up a cheap 22 and keep the SKS? I look at the 15-22 as a training rifle and it sounds like you don't have another AR.

It's a fun rifle too, though.

I don't have another AR (built anyway - have the complete lower) and I've had the 15-22 for a couple years now.

It's my go-to cheap, fun plinking rifle while still remaining kind of cool looking. Plus, my little brothers and cousins can shoot it all day long for $40. I'm a big fan of it.
