Mine cycles any FMJ round fine.
PMC hollow points and Remington hollows work great as well.
I carry it with Hornady and have put enough through to feel safe with them.
It WILL NOT eat Federal Hydro shocks!! Constant failure to feed issues, especially off the top of a full magazine. I put in magazines of mixed ammo and it worked great. As long as I did not introduce a hydro. If I did... Jam!!!!
That's interesting. I put 25 hydro shocks threw mine flawlessly. I only went with hornady's because my grouping at 25 feet was amazing and much better than the hydro shocks
When I use hydro shocks they nose dive into the feed ramp when stripped off the mag. Worse with a full mag under high spring pressure. Wedge themselves quite nicely right in there I must say.
So far Federal FMJ Walmart variety and some reloads. No problems yet, but I haven't shot it that much due to finding my brass in the snow.
I am carrying reloaded 115 gr. Barnes TAC-XP w/ 3.9 gr. of 700X.
No issues with the hydro shocks here either. I've run a different brands of FMJ's through without issue too. Knock on wood, my Nightmare, has been like my 229 and has been flawless so far.
Another weird thing is when I load the mag with 6 rounds, and then release the mag the top round falls out of the clip as I release the mag down. I tried it several times and every time it did the same thing. Kinda weird.
