Here is the Sig laser.
Very TLR 6. I like it. I'd like it more if there was a light. I'm sure that's coming. I was upset with their decision to use a proprietary rail, but a 1913 would just be too big on this. Most pistols in this class just don't have a rail. I guess a proprietary rail is better than no rail.
How wide is 6/100th of an inch?
How wide is 6/100th of an inch?
Just saw that Sig updated the width to 1.06". That's a lot less appealing than the 1.0" they originally published. Still pretty thin but now between the 1.1" G43 and the 1.17" G26 and not under as they originally said. Not sure why the number changed.
Glock 43 = 1.02" width
Sig P365 = 1.06" width
Glock 43 height = 4.25"
Sig P365 height = 4.3"
Glock 43 weight = 17.95 oz.
Sig P365 weight = 17.8 oz.
Glock 43 capacity = 6+1, +1 and +2 baseplates available
Sig P365 capacity = 10+1, 12+1
I'm not gonna fret over 2 hundreths of an inch (nearly imperceptible) difference in width when I get 10+1 vs. 6+1. And the Sig is lighter.
Here's the thing. 1.06" at the widest point, probably the slide stop, means very little if the rest of the pistol is 1".
They need to list the width of the frame and the width of the slide. That's all that matters.
The trigger will be the deciding factor for me.
Reliability will be the deciding factor for me. This would be a warm weather gun for me, so I've got a bit of time to listen to hear from Sig's uncompensated beta testers before I buy one. The trigger is probably decent, most major handgun makers put out pretty good striker fired triggers these days. If it's like a good P320 trigger, that would certainly work.
Ive never had a chance to shoot a 320 but have heard good things. I've put so many rounds through glocks over the years and that's what I carry on and off duty so the similarity and comparison of the pull and the reset are how I judge most other pistols.
