Big fan of my 229 in 40.just love the feel of the weight and metal in my hand. :D Plan on getting a 357 Sig barrel for it just wish the 357 Sig ammo price would come down. I really enjoy shooting it with my 239.

357Sig is cheaper than shooting 45! I like having the 357Sig barrels for my guns in .40. For cheap 357Sig ammo check out MidwayUSA or Aimsurplus. 50 round box for $20 isn't too bad. 40 is getting up there in price also.

Do this. Get a 229 and a 226, same basic config, and lay them down slide top to slide top. You may be a little surprised at how LITTLE difference in size there is. I was.

Totally agree with the above comment. I thought I wanted a 229, but when I actually saw how little difference there was in size I ended up going with the 226 instead. The 229 is maybe a little easier to conceal than the 226, but it is still not an easy conceal.

That is a problem... I've had zero problems with my 226. A buddy's father used to have a p225 that also ran flawlessly. If you don't mind me asking, what were the breaks? Similar issues or different each time?

P.S. I'm not asking to try and figure out if it was your fault. Just curious. Like I said, I have a 226 and try to keep my eye out for possible issues. :D

I love my 229 is .357! It's an awesome gun. I have a 229 in 9mm and a 228 as well. Just picked up a refurbished (Red box) 226 in 9mm from an INGO member and it is sweet too. I think the 229 has replaced the 228 as my favorite SIG! BTW I have a G33 that is a blast to shoot too!

My first gun was the P229 .40. Still my main carry. Got the Hogue grips and the Tritium Night Sights. Last time I was down south (Boonville), my cousin-in-law was awed I had a Sig. I didn't think it was all that special. I shot his 1911 and realized how much more comfortable my Sig was.
