Yes, but the P226 is about as close to perfection as one can get.
I would argue I like disassembling and re-assembling my 1911 back down to it's individual constituent parts much more than I like doing so with a p226 :).

Honestly, 1911 was my first-love. XDm was my first I owned because I couldn't afford the 226 or the 1911. Sig p226 was the second and then I finally got the 1911 :).

That said, the p226 is what I've been carrying for about the last 3 weeks as my 1911 is at Wilson Combat for some simple work [new night sights].

I need to handle a firearm with a terrible trigger so I can get an idea of what that actually means/entails. The trigger on my 226 is quite nice and the one on the 1911 is obviously amazing...

Where does the XDm trigger fall compared to the SRT on the 226 Elite?

Hummm, I think the Sigs are easy to fully disassemble/assemble.

Never ventured into the 1911 area yet. I can't imagine it being simpler than a Sig. Sounds like it'll be another platform I'll like.

P226 is a well designed piece. I own two currently, 40SW and 9mm. Definitely fun to shoot. The 9mm was a CPO and I paid $600 for it and I felt it was just like a new one.

The Sig isn't terribly hard to disassemble but there is at least one pin that requires a punch. I can take my 1911 down to it's individual constituent parts with no tools at all which is handy.
