Just bought a new Sig P220 Compact, and both factory mags will not allow Golden Sabers (230gr) to go in. When viewed from the top, both mags have a "lip" that bends inwards on the left side right above where the follower engages the slide catch. This lip hits the bullet ogive on some (25%-ish) of 50 rounds of Golden Saber from 2 different lots. also hits on 4 of 20 Corbon's (+P's that I bought by mistake, threw the box away). 185gr Gold Dots all seem to be fine.

Is this unusual? It is for me! Can I tweak the lip? It won't take much, but 220 Compact mags aren't cheap and they're not in any of my local fun stores.

I'll just shoot Gold Dots for now, but I wonder if 230gr GD's will have the same issue. WWB, Rem, and Blazer FMJ are all OK, but it's a tight squeeze for all rounds.

    Here's what I did:
measured the overall length of 10 rounds (all from the same box/lot) of seven types of .45ACP that I have on hand. All were within SAAMI specs as published in 205.pdf found on their website of 1.190"-1.275". Not a true representitive sample, but it's what I have...

Golden Sabers are a long bullet, and kind of weird shaped. Bizarrely, they work fine in my XD9sc with it's short chamber, when I have to seat truncated cone bullets quite short.
