First off I love this gun. The only thing I am not a fan of (but can live with) is the magazine disconnect "safety". This is the only the second Sig I have owned, but it looks like the mag disconnect is actually connected to the slide release. Is this correct? Has anyone removed theirs from this particular gun? And final question is it possible to remove and the gun still function?

I've checked them out before and never noticed a mag disconnect either, good to know I'm not totally loosing my memory.

It is inadvisable to disable any factory safety device on a carry gun, regardless of how superfluous it is.

I can't believe that many people have one. I've been looking for one for a month or so to check it out but I think I'd have better luck finding Sasquatch!

I've heard this before, but I don't agree. Why do you think this is true? I had no reservations or regrets when I removed the mag safety from my BHP clone.

Massad Ayoob makes a pretty good case about how it will screw you in court when they bring up you "recklessly" disabling safety features on your gun. Given how frequently he's an expert witness in defensive shooting cases, I just take his word for it.

In all honesty, I think you'd have to have a pretty crappy attorney in order for that to be a major issue in an otherwise good shoot.
