A picture I really like of my 64-8. Just a good solid shooting piece.

Wife says "Why don't you get yourself something for Christmas you will really like". I say, "OK".

I got it from Plainfield Shooting Supply in Plainfield, IN. It is a special edition made for a distributor by Ruger and not widely available..made for TALO marketing. Here is a write up I found on it:

When Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. opened for business in 1949 with a meager $50,000 investment, the company faced serious doubts from industry insiders. The “it can’t be done” remarks of the experts reflected the widespread view that the manufacture of guns had likely peaked, and was in a state of decline. There seemed to be few new ideas, and the apparent trend was that the large, established-name gunmakers would continue to dominate the market.
To celebrate its 60th Anniversary, Ruger has released its limited edition Mark III 60th Anniversary Edition. This version has the 60th Anniversary Ruger logo emblazened in 24 karat gold in the back of the bolt and Altamont Walnut Grips also featuring the 60th Anniversary Ruger logo.
** Front and rear sights for quick target acquisition.
** A magazine release button re-located to a more common position, on the left side of the frame, behind the trigger guard.
** A contoured ejection port and tapered bolt ears.
** A smoothly contoured, comfortably angled grip frame made of rugged steel components.
** A manual safety that positively locks the sear.
** An internal cylindrical bolt construction that ensures permanent alignment and higher accuracy potential than conventional moving-slide designs.
** An unobtrusive internal lock that locks the safety in the "SAFE" position.
** A magazine disconnect to prevent accidental discharge when the magazine has been removed.
** The first-ever visible loaded chamber indicator for a .22 rimfire pistol.
** Two ten-round magazines and a high-impact case are included with each pistol.
** All adjustable sight Mark III .22 pistols come drilled and tapped for a Weaver-type scope base adapter, included with each pistol.
    Specifications:
    Caliber: 22LR
    Finish: Blue
    Overall Length: 9.75"
    Barrel Length: 5.5" Bull Barrel
    Weight: 42oz
    Action: Single Action
    Sights: Fixed front, adjustable rear
    Magazine: 2 10 round magazines

They also come in Stainless Steel, but the bluing on this one was so beautiful I just couldn't resist. It's so deep it would make an old Smith & Wesson jealous!

There is also a VAQUERO and a Single Six too!

I picked up another TALO edition a few years ago, it's a S&W 422 in Carbon Fiber..kind of cool.
