Because HookEye said he hates it, and I love it, I thought I'd take a poll about the feelings towards the word "shotty", referring to shotguns. Vote away.

I use it sometimes. I think of it as a term of endearment.
However, I only use it for tactical shotguns or home defense shotguns.

Hunting shotguns are more noble and look like shotguns are supposed to look, thus they require the original "shotgun" term.

(Now putting on asbestos suit) Ok---flame away!

I have heard the term before, but thought it was referring to a cross between a shih tzu and a rottwieler.

Heard another one the other day - "Gauge", as in there's a gauge leaning in the corner.
