Nice, I like the checkering...has some style without being flashy or over the top.

I was thinking along the same lines. I have an older 1200 that shoots great, I have thought more than once about cutting the barrel down to 18.5". That looks amazing pyzik!!
Thanks guys. I'll be refinishing the wood (darker and satin) once I get my forms in line for the rest of the work.

Not enough beat up shotguns here. :):

Mossberg 590 with a bone stock Surefire 6P attached with a L&M light mount, This mount caught my eye because you can still remove the barrel with it attached. I may get a short lop stock or I may not who knows...

Here's my custom 870 done in Sniper Grey cerakote. Not the best pic to show the finish off, but really quality cerakote from Texas Custom Guns. Stock finish was worse than spray paint. This gun was purchased in 2011/2012.View attachment 50681

Started life as a 870 Express Tactical. It came factory with the peep sights, rail, door breacher muzzle attachment, etc.

    Added:
    Magpul Stock
    Magpul Fore-End
    Vang Comp SS Follower
    Vang Comp Big Button Safety
    Remington Police Edition Trigger Group
Remington Competition Trap Sear Spring (Part F91771)
Texas Custom Guns trigger work (I'm a trigger snob, all my guns have at least the surfaces polished up a bit)
    Remington Machined Extractor

Started a thread on this too but figured I'd share it here as well. Really happy with how it turned out. Nothing fancy, Remington 870 combo with a cheap barska red dot.

Mossy 500 I traded for and upgraded. Still need to coat the hardware. Will be posting a write up about the components and related troubles soon...

Got this at Dick's yesterday. 870 Synthetic 7 shot Tactical for $300. Came with a Choate Mark 5 pistol grip buttstock with spacers for adjustable LOP. Took both out to shrink it down to 13". Shoulders and points great. Only thing I plan to do is install a Hogue forend because I can't keep a grip on the factory forend.

Got this a few days ago . . . Remington 870 Tactical with XS ghost ring sights and ported choke. Swapped out the standard synthetic stock for a Mesa Tactical Urbino with pistol grip, adjustable cheek riser and LimbSaver pad. Reduced the pull from 14" to 12" making it more maneuverable, and the pistol grip allows pulling it in tighter to my shoulder. The LimbSaver pad makes a very noticeable difference in reducing the Added Mesa Tactical 6-round side saddle. I'm impressed. Stripping it down for cleaning is very fast after the first couple times. Even after 50 slug rounds, the only thing that needs much cleaning is the barrel. I store it in the scabbard and have a hard case for transport. Remington's current rebate brought the cost of the shtogun itself under $400.
