I've cleared a lot of houses for realsies with an 870. Even pulled a few folks out of houses they weren't supposed to be in with said 870. Not sure what's so difficult about it. That said, home invasions fall into one of two categories. They are coming for the occupants and are actively looking for you OR they think no one's home and are going about the house stealing. I've yet to see someone break into a home and then go quiet, set up an ambush, and wait for the homeowner to "clear" the house.

Personally, I'll be keeping the 870 for house duty. I've seen way to many folks with a lot of handgun bullets in them walking around and talking about current events. Whatever mobility I lose, I'm willing to trade that for the sheer damage a shotgun with plated buckshot deals.

    True dat.
There is no other firearm that can match the decisive results provided by a shotgun in skilled hands.
