A good thing to have on the range?I'm not a competive shooter but thinking a timer still might be a good to have to monitor progress ,a good thing?

Absolutely a good thing. Why are you not a competitive shooter? Do you want to be?

yes I would like to try competive shoot ing, ,I'm 63 and probably would do better w a sundial than a timer, but if I just show up, try it ,would proably make me better at home defense,do they have senior devisons ?

Yes they/we have senior divisions. Competition is what you make it. Trigger time, competition against yourself, competition against others.

The main thing is that a time has a random start feature for practice and an instant start feature for use with a partner. The timer should also do fixed time. Other than that it is up to you.

It will definitely make you a better/ safer gun handler under stress.
The best reason for coming though is because it's fun:D

If you have an iPhone, SureFire has a free shot timer app you can download in the app store. I have it and it works great. Plus, you always have your shot timer with you. :)

    I got the CED 7000
I have just gone through the instruction manual and it looks like it will do much more than I need right now
    Thanks for all the suggestions
