Shooting ranges

Alright, here's the deal. I have a friend from work who has offered to let me shoot on some property that his family owns. I am grateful for the offer and will definitely take him up on it. But, I don't want to wear out the welcome, and since Atterbury currently only has weekend hours is there anywhere close to Indy to shoot?? Does Marion County Fish & Game have the facilities to plink with an AR? I have never been there just know of them.

No AR plinking unless it is in 22 cal, 9mm, 458 socom or another pistol calibler

Hey Indy Monkey, I guess I got some bad info on the range at MCF&G. I was told you can shoot lots of pistols sizes, but the only long guns allowed are shotguns and rifles up to .22lr. However no center fire rifles were allowed. So you can shoot a rifle, say in 9mm? Thanks.

It doesnt matter if its a handgun or a rifle as long as it is in the approved calibers.

Which is anything other than traditional center fire rifle calibers.

Meaing you can shoot your marlin that is chambered in 44 mag, 357.

Or your Ar that is 9mm, 40mm, 22, 458 socom.

I shoot my 40 cal mp5 SBR clone there.

Only the cartridge's listed below are approved for the range. If you would like to have a cartridge added to this list please come to the next board meeting.
