Heroism, as in "way above the call of duty" is a high standard to live up to all of the time. It's called heroism for a reason.
Which is why in recent times they have tried to label everyone a 'hero' for doing their job. Like 'my teacher's a hero' because they showed up at work each day. They attempt to cheapen the label so that true heroism means nothing since everyone gets a participation trophy.
I think Mrs Murphy, Kindergarten teacher does not equal Audie Murphy.
