At first I was scared of GunBroker.com. But now...I am in trouble. It is SOOOO EASY to find all the hard-to-find guns I want and available with just the click of a mouse. Bought a G17L two weeks ago and now have a bid in on an AK and a Glock 30s. My wallet...and my wife...are not gonna like this.

I curbed my Gunbroker buying when the dealer I helped out went out of business. Decided it would save me money not to find another transfer dealer.

Yep, too easy on Gunbroker to click on that dream and then realize you have to pay for it, and have it shipped, and transferred, and still maintain a marriage.

The problem isn't that I find the things I wanted to buy. It's that I find things I never knew I wanted to buy until I saw them for sale.

I have never won anything on GB but have bid timidly on a few guns. I'm afraid I might win and that first purchase will be the gateway gun to an addiction that I cannot afford.

I really like gunbroker.com, they seem to have less fly by nights than armslist and others. They are well moderated. After 15 years I have my gunbroker.com activity pretty much under control. Unfortunately, I seem to have picked up an addiction to reverb.com, like gunbroker, but for musical instruments.

After a "bevy" of transactions I've only dealt with one guy (actually a dealer) that was a jerk or misrepresented what was offered. Finding things I wasn't aware of, that looked really interesting has been a little bit of a problem but I seem to have my situation under control. If you really want it and have patience you CAN find it on GunBroker. I don't consider purchases from people that have less than 10 transactions but that's just what works for me. I always shop local when I can but you can find nearly anything there and if it's an expensive item, at least for the moment, you save the sales tax and that can make or break a local deal for me. Highly recommended IMHO.

I like it so far, just not on the computer enough to keep from losing bids at the last minute. The good thing is that there's always something else coming along.

So many 3rd gen smiths I gotta catch them all, then my wife gives me a Gibbs slap and I'm out for 3 days.

Actually, I've got one complaint. Ignorant sellers (yes, ignorant) that refuse to take a class 03 FFL (yes, it is an FFL). They're always incredibly self righteous about not taking it as well, like C&R licensees are the scum of the Earth or something. I'll spend my money elsewhere thank you.

I won't buy a gun I can't handle first. Besides, the LGSs keep my options limited, and that keeps the wife happy.
