    So how short do you think you can take a vepr without going the extra step of moving the gas block? I kinda think 14" would be a good length overall but maybe 12" is cooler.

    Everything I read up on while doing this says below 14 you "should" move the gas block back. Otherwise you have to open up the gas ports enough that it will increase fouling in the gas system, but that you can definitely get them to run.
