Since you want to learn buy the M&P. A .22lr can is cheap by comparison to other cans. If you stay focused you can have a good set up that will do a lot.

The Keltec can only do so much besides be fun or a great vehicle and travel gun. However, it can teach you how to turn a $300 gun into a $1000. That is a lesson that will stay with you for life, if you choose to learn it. You can buy a Keltec any time or maybe even go through life without one, but right now while we are between crazed driven gun and mag buying, get the M&P and 5-10 mags for it. Get your can ordered. Get ahead of the curve. Buy the Keltec when the prices come back down.

We have the 2000 in 9mm Glock mag version. With a bunch of 33rd mags and being able to run our handgun mags it is nice to have. We got the gun and mags at rock bottom prices. .22 AR with a can, better.

    ya.
    I've made up my mind.
I'm going to buy the M&P 15 Sport.
My local walmart only carries the .22lr version.
My local LGS is priced way too high...
I've had bad luck with online orders in the past
but I may just have to go that route again.
I'd like to find a used one in nice shape for around $500
I'll probably only hold out for a used one for so long before I just place an online order
    ...we'll see
    wish me luck ya'll

well I certainly went in a little different direction.
finally picked up my new AR this evening.
I decided to go with the Del-Ton Echo 316/MOE
some might gimme grief since it's a Del-Ton
but for my first AR it's decent and I got it for a steal of a deal
