I got lucky and found a new Ruger SR1911 today. I thought I would post a picture for those who haven't seen one.

I'm really please to add it to my collection. I hope it shoots as well as it looks and feels.

Very Observant! Actually, it must have been racked by one of the curious customers at the counter who ask to see the piece while the paperwork was being processed.

This is just one of three pieces that were on my wish list. Last week I bought a SIG 1911-22LR-OD and I love it dearly. I found the SR1911 and it is a situation where you grab-em when you see-em or you don't get one. It will be a long time before supply meets demand. Now, I'm on the hunt for a Browning 1911-22-A1 (22 cal). They also are few and far between.

I like the very subtle undercutting at the base of the trigger guard.

How much should one expect to pay for an SR1911?

Looks pretty nice. Are all the controls black? The mag catch looks a little odd being black but if the other controls are black it probably looks ok. did you trade a Winchester for it? ;)

I have one. Mine is among the most accurate that I've ever shot, at any price (benchrest 1.75-2.5 inches at 25 yds, 5 shots.). It also uses Para, Wilson, SA, McCormick, Colt, and surplus magazines with equal reliability. Mine feeds even short HP ammo (old Speer Lawman "Flying Ashtrays") with no problems. I like it so well it's my new EDC.

Me too would like to know how much approx one would have to spend ;)??
I gave $599 for mine at PSS in Plainfield.

The prices range from 600 to 800.00 plus tax and fees. This one came from Gander Mountain On-Line & it was shipped to the local store for pick-up.

This looks to be the best deal in 1911s.

Dealer cost is $535, so PSSs price is right in line with their very customer friendly mark up.

Anybody over $600 is shanking people. :xmad:
