I got lucky and found a new Ruger SR1911 today. I thought I would post a picture for those who haven't seen one.

I'm really please to add it to my collection. I hope it shoots as well as it looks and feels.

This is just one of three pieces that were on my wish list. Last week I bought a SIG 1911-22LR-OD and I love it dearly. I found the SR1911 and it is a situation where you grab-em when you see-em or you don't get one. It will be a long time before supply meets demand. Now, I'm on the hunt for a Browning 1911-22-A1 (22 cal). They also are few and far between.

Looks pretty nice. Are all the controls black? The mag catch looks a little odd being black but if the other controls are black it probably looks ok. did you trade a Winchester for it?

At some point, supply will catch up. People are paying up to 800 for these. Not me. I'll wait. I want one, but I won't be requiring Vaseline when I get mine.

I have one. Mine is among the most accurate that I've ever shot, at any price (benchrest 1.75-2.5 inches at 25 yds, 5 shots.). It also uses Para, Wilson, SA, McCormick, Colt, and surplus magazines with equal reliability. Mine feeds even short HP ammo (old Speer Lawman "Flying Ashtrays") with no problems. I like it so well it's my new EDC.

I gave $599 for mine at PSS in Plainfield.

The prices range from 600 to 800.00 plus tax and fees. This one came from Gander Mountain On-Line & it was shipped to the local store for pick-up.

Dealer cost is $535, so PSSs price is right in line with their very customer friendly mark up.

Anybody over $600 is shanking people.
