I have the SS version and it is very accurate with a lot of different ammo. I like to use it with Remington subsonic hollowpoints for squirrel. The rifle takes some getting use to due to it being so barrel heavy.

Seen some target 10/22's at a local shop for about $300. I was wondering how the accuracy is on these.

Find yourself a good used Ruger 10/22 and put a nice lightweight Tactical Solutions barrel on it, $149.00. You can also do a trigger job for under $30.00 too.

IMO heavy barreled .22's are great for prone or bipod type shooting. I wouldn't want to carry one around hunting.

PM and I'll try to walk you through this if you need help.

Mine will shoot MOA off a rest more often than not. The trigger is better and internals are smoother than the standard 10/22s that I have had experience with.

Great guns, tons of accesories. But if 300.00 is what you want to spend and Accuracy is the most important thing buy a CZ model 452 bolt action.

uh-oh, another one gonna get the 10/22 fever. they are cheap enough to buy a used one and do the modifying yourself. but, the heck of it is you never finish because there is a multitude of aftermarket parts out there. i've built several and they are actually fun to mess with.....daryll

    10/22 T

Love mine. Propably had it 10 years. Shoots nice tight groups. I only added a sling and a 3-9X scope. Have shot praire dogs with it to 125 yards and used it to get my Appleseed Rifleman patch.

I would buy another one if I could find one for $300.

I am going to try a thumbhole stock this year that I have. It has always shot good right out of the box.

Wish I had seen this before I bought a basic 10/22 with wood stock for $209 from Bradis!

Please let us know where you saw them at, and if they were new. I'd love to pick up an old one with the metal trigger guard.

PS> Forgot to add, check out RFC Home for some GREAT info on 10/22's and all things rimfire. It is an addition though, you can never have too many 10/22's!

paperboy, I would buy one at that price if I were you, and pass the location of that shop on to help out some of your fellow INGO'ers. I have had one for over 10yrs, very happy with it.
