I've just started to clean cases this way and cannot say that I've seen any galling yet. I'm using the Dawn/Lemi-Shine method and have experimented with a couple of ways to separate the media. The easiest so far is to grab a handful out of the tumbler and then rinse in a bucket of clean water. While rinsing, tumble it around in your hands and the media falls right out when under water. Then, when done, just run a magnet in the rinse bucket to pick up any remaining pellets. Here is a before and after of 45 acp brass done with Dawn and Lemi-Shine:
One thing I've noticed is that the shiny brass takes less effort to load than the other methods I've used in the past.
