"Christians" like this give Christianity a bad name. He might want to re-read his Bible. From my reading, had Jesus been standing around when this happened, he probably would have gotten a lesson on humility, serving, and blessing your enemies.

    QFT.

"If a man asks to borrow your coat, give him your cloak also." " if a man ask you to walk with him a mile, walk with him twain." (By the way, the context of that statement is a Roman soldier's right to compel a local to carry his equipment for a mile, something that really stuck in the Jewish craw, understandably.) "Love your enemies, pray for them that spitefully use you."

Shall we continue? I support your freedom to do business with whom you wish, no questions asked. But I will use my free speech to call you out. This is despicable, regardless of her disability. (And Crohn's can be very debilitating. A lot of it depends on the severity of the case.) It's time to stop this nonsense.

As an aside, this country is full of "Christians", who are only so because they self identify, state that as their religion on standardized forms, and attend church once in a while. But they know little about Christ, and haven't dusted off a copy of His Word in a long time, except to accessorize their Sunday outfit.

Matthew 25:34-46 KJV[34] Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: [35] For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: [36] Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. [37] Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee ? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? [38] When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee ? [39] Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? [40] And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. [41] Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: [42] For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: [43] I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. [44] Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? [45] Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. [46] And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

    Reverting to tribalism?

If only someone had warned us of this problem.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federalist_No._10

It was called "faction" or "factionalism" though:
As long as the reason of man continues fallible, and he is at liberty to exercise it, different opinions will be formed. As long as the connection subsists between his reason and his self-love, his opinions and his passions will have a reciprocal influence on each other; and the former will be objects to which the latter will attach themselves. The diversity in the faculties of men, from which the rights of property originate, is not less an insuperable obstacle to a uniformity of interests. The protection of these faculties is the first object of government. From the protection of different and unequal faculties of acquiring property, the possession of different degrees and kinds of property immediately results; and from the influence of these on the sentiments and views of the respective proprietors, ensues a division of the society into different interests and parties.

The way to fight it: gridlock.

If a faction consists of less than a majority, relief is supplied by the republican principle, which enables the majority to defeat its sinister views by regular vote. It may clog the administration, it may convulse the society; but it will be unable to execute and mask its violence under the forms of the Constitution.

The text of Federalist No. 10.

Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil for I am armed with a combination AK-57, uzzie, radar laser, triple barrel, double scoped, heat-seek’n shotgun and more shells than a normal person could carry. Besides, I'm not going to vote for Hillary so life is good.

Dude, Crohn's is not an acute condition. It's an auto-immune disease in which the body attacks tissues in the digestive and alimentary tract. If she had a flare while awaiting a (people's) towtruck it would be inconvenient but not life threatening

jd is right, calling that a disability just furthers the desired narrative. If she has the placard it's because she wants to park close to the mall

    [h=3]Crohn's dis·ease/ˈkrōnz diˌzēz/
    [/h]
    noun

    1. a chronic inflammatory disease of the intestines, especially the colon and ileum, associated with ulcers and fistulae.

    Crohn's is no picnic.
Spend some time with a person that is suffering from it.
I have. Degrees of involvement. If serious it is debilitating and not omnipresent.
Not taking away from the discussion just saying. Chrons can keep a person at home depending on the degree.

As to the driver......his call of course but to refuse to tow where my son works would mean you are soon to be unemployed. Especially for the reason he gave. Simply bravo sierra.
    Tow the car.

Neanderthals would thrive in our current system. They would have ample opportunity for food, shelter, and their work ethic would make us all feel lazy. Our country would be better off if we were more neanderthalish

You wouldn't like it. Neanderthals are notorious socialists. A few motivated, strong men go out and risk their lives to kill a mammoth with blunt spears, and then the rest of the tribe comes in, shoves the bruised and bloody men aside and they then proceed to cut up the huge mammoth to distribute the meat to the rest of the tribe.

Neanderthals flourished all over Europe for tens of thousands of years until Homo sapiens (devout capitalists) moved in. The two got along great for awhile, the Neanderthals showed H. sapiens how to hunt and fish, and the H. sapiens women had some fun with brawny neanderthal men, but in the end, H. sapiens bought up all the hunting rights and the neanderthals couldn't compete in the new capitalistic land and they died out.

They say that we all carry a little neanderthal DNA in us, and some, like Bernie Sanders, have more than a little, and that old tribal socialism shows itself.

He mentions that he has been stiffed several times lately by liberals. Maybe he needs to ask political affiliation before he goes on the call.

I imagine being a contrarian makes that exceptionally complicated.

I do not see Kut as a contrarian...I did at one time but I no longer do...

Kut is consistent...Kut tends to not judge others....Kut often times questions himself and what he believes...Openly..On a forum....I notice if Kut is in a thread that I behave better...I notice that Kut often disagrees with folks on issues...Strongly...Yet later will give props to that same person on another issue...

    IMHO....

One other thing - he challenges people to think, to analyze and to explain. That's something people aren't always comfortable with.

Perhaps I'm missing your point, but I doubt anyone wants to endure abdominal pain or possibility pooping their pants because they've been stranded on the side of the road.

there is bad crohn's, and not bad crohn's. People figured out it could get you disability and jumped on the bandwagon. I saw someone "disabled" from crohn's who is on no meds and has had no flare for 20 years, but was given disability six years prior to my meeting her.

    The system sucks.

“Something came over me, I think the Lord came to me, and he just said get in the truck and leave,” Shupe told an ABC affiliate. “And when I got in my truck, you know, I was so proud, because I felt like I finally drew a line in the sand and stood up for what I believed.”

According to Fox Carolina, Shupe identified himself as a conservative Christian who supports Donald Trump.

Serious and maybe stupid question as I am not well read on the subject but would his being proud of what he did qualify as pride?

I'm no expert in theology but I would classify what he did as defying Christ's second new commandment: Love your neighbor as you love yourself. If we're to follow His lead, we shouldn't spitefully reject someone just because of a political opinion or the way they have their car festooned with bumper stickers or packed with campaign signs. Had the person asked him to do something immoral or against his religion, maybe. But just to do his job? Uhh...no.

I agree, if we can't remain polite and kind while we make a political statement, then there's usually more to our point than politics (though we may not always know it).

The wife of a co-worker has it and teaches Pilates multiple days a week.

As I said before, if her condition is so bad maybe she shouldn't be driving at all. I'm gonna bet it isn't ;)

From another article: Cassy McWade said she suffers from Psoriatic Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and early stage Crohn's disease.

Yeah, :D is the face I bet Jesus would make when he saw the Bernie bumper sticker. Or maybe not......

[SUP]25 [/SUP]On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
[SUP]26 [/SUP]“What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
[SUP]27 [/SUP]He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[SUP][a][/SUP]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[SUP][b][/SUP]”
[SUP]28 [/SUP]“You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
[SUP]29 [/SUP]But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
[SUP]30 [/SUP]In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. [SUP]31 [/SUP]A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. [SUP]32 [/SUP]So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. [SUP]33 [/SUP]But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. [SUP]34 [/SUP]He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. [SUP]35 [/SUP]The next day he took out two denarii[SUP][c][/SUP] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
[SUP]36 [/SUP]“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
[SUP]37 [/SUP]The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise. Unless they vote Democrat. In that case, **** them."
