I received my Great Grandfather's Remington model 10 around 45 yrs ago and had it re-blued at that time. I wish now I'd left it alone. You should keep yours as is.

I agree. The 1911 looks exactly as it should and just screams "history."

She looks like a nice old 1911 grandma, treat her with respect, shoot her, enjoy her as she is.
