That plea deal makes no sense. Technically he is pleading guilty to nothing. This is organized bribery. Hear me out...


If I get caught doing something and tell the judge "I'll give $1,000 to charity if you make this charge go away" I'd be locked up for bribery.

If he (or the judge) does it, its legal. WTF?

It happens quite frequently here in IN for first time offenders with low level charges. There's deferment, where they put prosecution on hold for a period of time and if you behave they drop the charge(s). Then there's is when the defendant pleads guilty, the judge takes the plea under "advisement" basically doesn't accept or deny the plea. Then after you behave for so long the judge denies the plea and dismisses the charge. If you don't behave he'll accept it.

The difference I suspect is that AOC has her job by contract with tammany, bowman was just a common diversity hire. When the agreement between her sponsor and tammany expires, it will be renegotiated or she will meet the same fate as bowman.
