the 870 is nearly indestructible if they were good enough for our soldiers in Vietnam they're great for hunting and home defense I just wish I'd gotten the home field combo

The 870 is a great gun. I carry one on duty & have one for home defense. They are the Mr. Potato Head of shotguns, you can add all kinds of crap to them, they break down easy & can be used for home defense, hunting, & trap just by changing barrels.

Love my 870 - was my first gun purchase and still in excellent condition. I bought a Mossberg 20ga recently and just couldn't get used to the "slop" in the forearm, and overall fit and finish just wasn't close to the Remington. Sold it and bought a Remington semi-auto, and love it!

The first shotgun I ever bought with my own money was a 12 ga. 870 Wingmaster, I was 15 and paid $300 for it, that was over 25 years ago, I wasn't old enough to put the gun in my name. I still have it and it is my favorite gun to hunt with, whether it's upland birds, ducks, or deer it has never failed.

The 870 was my first shotty and I still have that one. Since then I have added a Mossy 500 and other Remington 870 models. I like the Mossberg fine but the 870 is probably a bit more dear to my heart but both are great. You can't go wrong in any way by picking up an 870.

I own two 870s. One 12ga and one 20ga. I think they are the best pump guns made. I know alot of people like thier Mossbergs, but I never cared for the feel of them. I guess its a matter of personal preference. I also own a 20ga 1100 and a 12ga 11/87 so I'm definitely a fan of remington shotguns. The Mossbergs are usually cheeper in price, but i've always felt with guns, and tools you buy the best you can afford, take good care of it and it will last the rest of your life.
