As long as I know a date in advance, I can work my schedule around it. Weekends or weekdays are both fine.

Don't do it on NFA Day weekend. (9/26-27)

For those who are signed in.... what is best for yal, weekend or evenings (start time 6-7)

Weeknight would work better for me, but could do a weekend as well, given sufficient notice so I can request off from the shop. I won't have an available weekend until 10/17 or later.

we can make it a 4hr deal with some advanced skill in IV's, sutures, and lung decompression for solo or battlefield, SHTF injuries?

Sounds like a separate class to me...

I would restrict the course material to stuff we're likely to need immediately following a GSW or traumatic injury in order to stabilize the patient until "real" medical care can be administered. This will be of greatest interest/relevance to the most folks, and will allow time for questions and to practice techniques. I would rather use those 4 hours to hammer home a few topics/techniques, instead of glossing over a bunch of them.

    My :twocents:

I would certainly be in on this if it were on a weeknight. This is an excellent idea and a great way to meet some new people. I wouldn't be able to make a weekend date until January '10. So, I don't know if that means I should add my name to the list or not...don't want it to look like I can't follow instructions. :)

    What's the attendance cap?

I will cap this at 15 INGO members. If we don't fill some can bring family (as I saw in above posts) But lets keep it simple for now.

Sounds like a separate class to me...

This class will be a down and dirty basic trauma class. With some basic A&P (maybe even some preclass reading very basic) and treatment for mostly general trauma and knife/GSW spacifics. I will do a pic heavy lecture and then the rest of the time will be skills and Q&A. If anyone has any cases or spacific bullet points please PM me and I will address.

***THIS WILL NOT BE A 1 TIME EVENT*** I WILL TRY TO DO THIS A FEW TIMES A YEAR, BUT TWICE THIS FALL 1 WEEKEND AND 1 WEEK EVENING AND I WILL HAVE A SEGMENT FOR HUNTERS ALSO.

Hey, Oct 17th works for me :D

I'd love to see the first 3 hours or so to cover the "down and dirty" basics then maybe a few of us interested in picking your brain and going a bit deeper buy you lunch and hang around for some more work, oh oh oh This is starting to sound like a LOT of fun.

    Where's the bacon?

Or maybe since this is getting big enough even with out the evening crowd here yet, we can make it a 4hr deal with some advanced skill in IV's, sutures, and lung decompression for solo or battlefield, SHTF injuries?

I thought about coming, but I am NOT volunteering to have someone practice this on me! :lmfao:

Hell, at the absolute minimum... I can use it for recert hours!

    Blessings,
    Bill

Weekends or weeknights, I can get a weekend day off but need some notice since I work 7 days a week right now.

Stuff I'd really like to know is when to use Celox/QuikClot vs. tourniquet, how to use Catheter for tension Pneumothorax, and a nasopharyngeal Airway (I've added both of those to my base Cav Arms PTK blow out kit but haven't had any real training besides talking to my dad who is a Parkview ER PA about them).

I think I am going to lean on a Military medic for the Synthetic Coagulation agents. **Cough 2ndAdminlover**. As I said earlier, this hasn't been an option for civilians.

This won't be part of the 2hr class but maybe a more advanced class on a later date... maybe GSW part duex. However sticking around after the meat and potatoes is a no holds bar Q & A.
