Hey everyone. About 6 years ago, my Grandpa gave me his 1953 made M70 in 30-06. It was sporting a Weaver K4 scope. I've killed about a dozen deer with it since then, but the last couple didn't hit exactly where I wanted. When i really started looking, I realized there was some blurry spots and what looks like lint on on the lenses. I've decided to mount a new scope and thought I might put the rear sight back on. I read that it was common practice to remove them back then, because the objective bells would rub. I'd like to use see thru rings with my new scope and put the rear back on. Sadly I don't have it, never came with the rifle. Can't really find anything on line, so any Ideas on a source? Is it a gunsmith job or could I do it? If I need a smith, any suggestions? I'm in Bloomington.

Deer are really starting to move in this area so I need to get the war horse back in top form. Some shots could be as close as 40 yds, so I think iron sights would be handy, if I can find one. Oh, its a standard model as best I can tell. Nothing fancy on it and a 24" barrel.

Ebay, gunbroker or guns america All the old stock stuff from numrick midway and such is most likely gone long ago.

Might check or something like a Lyman rear dovetail peep sight so such, good luck,

Thanks guys. I'd found some pieces on ebay, but nothing complete. Don't know why I haven't checked Brownells. I hunt in Bloomington, DNR predation permit for my job.
