The rough boards look period correct for the old style rifle. I did tuft and button royal blue velvet trying to get a classy royalty look, but it ended up looking like something a pimp would have. You did better.

You need to rotate the tape measure about 90 degrees ccw and then I think you got it!

I prefer when the barrel is pointed slightly down and the gun is perfectly centered l to r. But it’s what you prefer that counts!

Looks good, but why is it just a wall hanger? Must have missed the back story. No way to make it a functional wall hanger?
