If your want to spend big money, i also read about one in a car magazine that they guarantee you will not ever get a speeding ticket with it, and if you do, they will pay it for you. BTW it is more of a radar scrambler, not a detector, and is ILLEGAL in some states. i think it was going for about $450-500 bucks.

I cant remember the name of it, but i know it is a vocal detector and tells you whether the radar is in-front, behind, or to each side. It also tells you how many radars its picking up.

I cast my vote for the escort 9600 series. I drive 500 miles per week to and from Chicago, and it has never failed me. I did get a warning ticket 2 years ago, but the cop admitted to me he "guessed" I was speeding. He clocked a guy in the center lane at 63, and since I was in the right lane going around a huge curve he assumed I was going faster. I was not, because I knew he was there. This was the only time I have ever gotten a citation that I did not deserve.

Active radar jammers are illegal in ALL states because they violate FCC regulations for licensing on those frequencies. Passive radar jamming is mostly snake oil.

I wish i could remember the name of it. They had the list of states it was illegal in, i think there were 45 states that it WAS legal in. Again i'm not sure exactly how it worked but i know it was legal in some states, i'm pretty sure indiana was one of them.

I think this may be what i am talking about.

I was going down I-57 in the middkle of nowhere when the laser signal went off on my Escort. Turned out a state trooper was on an overpass about 1200 feet in front of me. He nailed me and the guy behind me I was 81 in a 65. He showed no mercy although I had my "veteran" license plates on. When I got home I called Escoert and they said by the time the unit goes off from laser, the cops have you. He mentioned a unit with hjamming capabilities, but said it was illegal in Illinois. I didn't look ibtoi it because I figure if the cops catch you jamming their equipment, they can probably confiscate your car. When driving on the interstates, I try to watch both sides of the road way down, slow down over any rises and curves where a cop can be waiting on the other side, and now, any overpass that has an entrance where they can hit you from way off and then get on the road and nail you. Another time, got pulled over on I-55 and the cop told me an airplane clocked me speeding. It was a trap and they were pulling them over like shooting fish in a barrel. Anyway, the Escort is nice4, but you can have your eyes wide open and still be nailed.

Didn't you hear? Veterans are exempt from speeding tickets....;)

If an officer is doing his job correctly i believe he should not be biased no matter who you are.:twocents:

Do i think he done his job correctly? Yes.

I got a speeding ticket a month ago around the Peru area for 76 in a 60, he showed no mercy for me either. As much as i wanted to, i cant get mad at him for it. I was breaking the law, he was just doing his job.

    LoL......worried about speeding in a charger r/t:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

sorry to break it to you, my saturn is just as fast and looks more the part....in 2 years, no tickets, 1x verbal warnings....

The day you rely on an idiot box to prevent speeding tickets, is the day I'll laugh when you get caught by an ISP running laser.
    My best advice is,
A: Be smart, don't blow past everyone....you're safer in a group
B: Look at the road and think "If I were a cop, where would I hide"
C: Don't buy flashy vehicles(my saturn is about as flashy as it comes, so I broke this rule....lol)
D: If you do get pulled over with a radar detector, don't expect any mercy.

I gave up detectors after more laser units got pushed into circulation.....and started a new prospect, using my eyes

First off you can speed in any car it doesn't have to be fast. You can even speed in a moped if you aren't careful.

Unless you have some MAJOR upgrades on that saturn you wouldn't stand a chance. Let me know if you want to meet up at bunker hill this summer and we can run them. I traded my cobalt ss/sc that had a lot of upgrades including a stage 2 supercharger system (stage 2 supercharger pulley, 60lb fuel injectors, and computer reprogrammed) cold air intake, Loudmouth exhaust. I never made it to the track with it but it was fast, could very easily smoke a v8 mustang. However with front wheel drive its really hard to get a good launch with good traction out of the gate. My charger only has a intake, exhaust, and computer programmer and it is easily faster than my cobalt was. My chargers estimated HP is around 425. Again let me know if you want to run them at bunker hill.

I would truly appreciate it if you wouldn't speed on the public roads and possibly kill my children or my only grand-daughter. There are race tracks where one can speed to their little heart's content. PSA

    unless its one of these:

your 425 horsepower has to move over 4000 lbs. the Saturn Sky's 260 only has to move 2900 ought to be a good match up. especially if there's curves involved. your [STRIKE]boat[/STRIKE] charger won't do so well, but a sky would be really good.

I did think of this, however i assumed it was not a sky, otherwise he would probably have mentioned it. IMO other than the sky saturn its pretty much junk. Like i said JMO

My cobalt ss/sc weighed 2991 and was running at 285 Hp. With that said even with the extra weight of the charger it is still faster.

Also flashy has nothing to do with it. If your not speeding you wont get pulled over. I've never got a ticket in the 3 1/2 years i owned my cobalt ss/sc. When i got my charger i got a ticket within the first month. Guess what? I was speeding....

pics of the Cobalt ss/sc the day i brought it home....I loved the car it was just too small to fit a family in.

I've never seen a saturn I'd cal junk. I've seen several with 250K+ all original.

    totally weak, yes. junk? no.

way too small for someone 6'2''? for sure. I've never met a saturn I fit in.
