    Lol, I had to explain to a friend of mine one nite that u can open a carry a handgun because when asked where it was he said he left it in the car because when he applied for his carry license he was told that it's illegal to open carry and u can be arrested for it

    The best thing to do is talk to the ATF compliance officers directly. They have offices in many of the major cities, and from my experience are more than willing to let you know the CORRECT answers.

    My experience with law enforcement is that they are human beings, not walking computers. They do not, and cannot be expected to know all laws pertaining to firearms. The ATFs reference guide is nearly 250 pages in length! Besides, I have also encountered a few badges that actually don't like guns and won't provide truthful information so that the potential gun owner is discouraged from getting a certain gun, or carrying it.
