Under 50% for an audience rating at Rottentomatoes.com, so yeah, definitely don't spend coin on watching it in a theatre. The wife and I'll probably watch it when it comes to Netflix, just for the special effects.
The next one will have us all unite into 1 big Socialist world government in a utopian society where Christianity has been stomped out for good, and we've negotiated with the aliens and give them money, making them now our friends.
I thought the first one was dumb, so it is interesting to hear that this one is probably even worse. The whole premise of these movies is a liberal wet dream. A united world against an alien force. No human enemies, we're all just a big blue ball of friends fighting against evil aliens. The next one will have us all unite into 1 big Socialist world government in a utopian society where Christianity has been stomped out for good, and we've negotiated with the aliens and give them money, making them now our friends.
I'd love to see Mystery Science Theater 3000 make a return and do a couple episodes with these movies.
As pulp sci-fi flick it works. If you liked the first you'll like it, probably... Just try not to think about it too much. I felt old afterwards, seemed like the cast members that weren't holdovers from the old movie were just out of diapers.
Aw c'mon, it wasn't THAT bad!
Aw c'mon, it wasn't THAT bad! Somewhat predictable yes, and the all knowing orb came of as somewhat ditzy, and Doctor Okun seemed a little. . . .uh. . .looser than in the original but HEY the freakin' aliens were inside his head. And who can't love a blatant plug for ID3 to ID Infinity??
